7 ways to kill boredom when confined to your home
Owing to the recent health crisis around the world, there has been lot of confinement at home both out of precaution or due to work from home orders from the companies. With that said I see a lot of people asking for suggestions on how to kill boredom. So here are a few things that you can do from the confines of you home.
a.) Watch online content on streaming platforms
There are a plethora of options starting from more popular options like Amazon, Netflix and Hotstar to lesser popular platforms like Zee5, MXplayer and many more. There are plenty of content from different genre to keep everyone busy.
b.) Listen to podcast
Another engagement method – podcast have been around for some time now and there again, there are different platforms offering content on multitude of topics that one can choose from and listen to.
c.) Books
This is an age old activity that has been engaging people for a long time now. I personally prefer the hard copies of books but don’t mind reading e-books either. Some book recommendations include – Bad Blood, Alchemist, Empire of the Moghuls series, Lord of the Rings series. I have also started revisiting some of my favorite novels from my childhood – Enchanted Woods by Enid Blyton, Three Investigators series by Alfred Hitchcock.
d.) Puzzles and mini-games
You can kill time by solving puzzles, riddles or mini-games. I have some word puzzles that I can share on daily basis if people are interested. This activity can be pretty engaging and it is easy to lose track of time when solving puzzles.
e.) Painting/Drawing [Kids activity as well]
Another activity that you can engage in could be drawing or painting and depending on your interest this can be very engaging and you may end up spending a lot of time in this. This may be the time for you to end up sharpening your drawing/painting skills. This could also be an activity which can help you keep your kids engaged. You can either encourage them to paint/dram alone or do a combined activity.
f.) Origami [Kids activity as well]
You could be someone who already knew Origami, or are new to the field, this may be the time to get your hands on some paper and try out the Japanese are form. By the way have you heard about the 3-D origami ? You can create some really awesome items through them.
g.) Board games [kids activity, adults can play as well]
Remember those board games that are there in the house. Now may be the right time to get them out and start playing them. Not only are they fun to play, but also could be a nice activity for family bonding.
